Twitter says it's seen an increase in people liking posts after changing the icon from a star (for favouriting) to a heart.
Speaking at the Open Mobile Summit in San Francisco, Kevin Weil from the firm said they'd seen a 6% increase in users liking updates in one week.
Twitter also says it's had a 9% rise in new users.
Hearts replaced stars last week but the move wasn't popular with some fans.
The social media firm said it made the change because the star could be confusing to new users and the heart was more universally known around the globe.
Kevin Weil said the changes had been tested extensively.
"We knew we'd get a lot of reaction in both directions. There were people that felt very strongly FOR what we did. There were people that felt very strongly against.
"But it's not something that we did lightly. We put a lot of thought into a change as fundamental as replacing star with heart.

"You only have a few favourites. There are only a few things that are your favourites but you can like lots of things.
"And the word like is a word that applies across cultures, across time zones. People just understand it better."
